A Quick Note From the Author About Book Pricing
I wanted to take a moment to address my book pricing. I have gotten so much awesome feedback from all of you that I wanted to say thank you. You might be wondering what for… that is easy.
Thank you for telling me my books are worth more than I price them at. That means the world to me. I know it’s hard to make a dollar last nowadays and I try as hard as I can to keep my books priced within reason. I am nearly totally self-published/indie now so that means ALL of the expense of creating a book, releasing a book and marketing a book fall squarely upon my shoulders.
I pay for multiple editing stages. Proofing (this is the step that happens as soon as I finish a book–I often have 2-3 proofers on one project alone). Editing (Content) the next step. Editing 2nd Round (Line Editing). Final Line Editing.
I have started outsourcing the cover art and ad creation because of time restraints and trust me this cost ads up.
I pay for formatting assistance and assistance in uploading to vendors.
None of this includes the marketing that goes into each book and the ad creation. This has cost me as much as $14,000 for one title and as little as $2,000 for one (that did not sell well I’d like to add here).
Audiobooks cost me a LOT to have made and to market. Again, I take great pride in these. I hire professional narrators, quality production teams, etc and there is the additional art and marketing for these as well.
Print book creation has costs involved as well.
Setting aside all of the costs, let’s talk about the time I put into each book. I do this full-time. I often work 10-14 hour days, forgoing family time and any time I’d have with friends. I have worked through every single vacation the Roths have taken in the past 12 years. You read that right–every one. My family is always shorted time with me so that I can meet deadlines.
I am ashamed to admit I often spend time I should be exercising or getting out and living life, writing and engaging with my reader base online to be sure I keep up on all the titles readers want to see more of. I LOVE writing. I LOVE my job. I LOVE my readers. I love staying in contact with them. I have no complaints in this area. I’m doing what I love to do.
That being said, I’m going to start the process of raising my prices slightly. I do still offer amazing box set deals, limited time specials, pre-order savings, but overall my prices will see a slight increase.
I wanted to reach out and thank you all for your understanding and encouragement in this area. I struggled for nearly two years with do I or don’t I and the deciding factor was all of you stressing that my work is quality work and doesn’t need to be discounted to rock bottom basement clear-out pricing.
So, again, I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
I can’t find the next book listed in a series. Where is it?
That depends on the series and the book. Be sure to look at Mandy’s FULL BOOK LIST.
Join her newsletter today to never miss out on a notification of a new release. You can join it here.
At this time, Mandy is no longer participating in Kindle Unlimited. The restrictions preventing her from having her books on all vendors, and available to more readers were too much. In addition, the current TOS (terms of service) do not work for her as is. Thanks for understanding!
How do I get my library to carry Mandy M. Roth ebooks?
There is a helpful post on how to get your libary to carry Mandy’s books here.
I have Mandy’s ebook but I can’t seem to figure out how to get it on my select reading device. Can you help?
At this time Mandy is unable to offer technical advice for ebook loading. A Google or YouTube Search for loading ebooks onto your select device should yield results.
I want to read all Mandy’s books. What is the best reading order for each series?
Mandy and her team try to keep her Full Book List Page up to date. Each series is listed in its suggested reading order (except for the Immortal Ops World. A link to its suggested reading order is provided on the Full Book List Page as well.)
I posted a message to Mandy on the Amazon forums, Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc, why hasn’t she responded?
Mandy isn’t able to watch all boards and forums at all times and still keep up on writing, marketing, being a mom to three boys and a wife to Mr. Mandy. Using the Contact form provided on the site is one way to reach Mandy and her team. Keep in mind that with the volume of emails she gets it’s not possible for her to respond to all of them personally. Also, consider joining Facebook and joining Mandy’s Roth Head’s Group (fan group for Mandy M. Roth).

Will Mandy be continuing the series I love? I don’t see anything more listed about on her FULL BOOK LIST PAGE
Depends on the series. Several series are being discontinued because of piracy. When too many books are pirated and not enough are sold Mandy cannot afford to continue a series no matter how much she loves it.
Why does Mandy also write under pen names?
Because the work is different from my Mandy M Roth books and she feels it’s important to separate it. Rory Michaels has books that are threesomes, M/M/F, contemporary westerns erotica. Kennedy Kovit is contemporary westerns writes only M/F and last but not least Regan Hawk is futuristic/Sci-fi Erotic Romances.
Does Mandy write full-time?
Do you mean does she work a separate full-time job outside of writing? No. Writing is her full-time job.
Will Mandy send me bookmarks or other swag?
Mandy does not stock bookmarks any longer and stocks very little swag. The swag she does keep on hand is reserved for contests/giveaways that she runs via her newsletter. Be sure you’re signed up for her newsletter/mailing list and that you check your spam often for mailings from her. Also, join her Facebook Group.
Is Mandy a pantser or a plotter?
A little of both.
Does Mandy ever use real people or people she has known in her books?
Answer from Mandy: “Legal says I should say no here. So, um, *no*.”
I have a story idea, can I send it to Mandy?
Sorry, but no. Any story ideas sent to Mandy will not be read and will be deleted immediately. She suggests if you have a story idea, write it!
I want to write fan fiction of Mandy’s characters and worlds. Is that okay?
No. Mandy M. Roth does not authorize fanfiction of her work. Her worlds and characters are copyrighted and belong to her and her alone. They are not to be included or used in any fan fiction.
I’d like to email Mandy suggestions for how I believe the upcoming plot/story threads in her series should go. Can I?
Sorry. It’s a legal thing. Mandy does not accept or read plot/storyline thread suggestions sent to her and they are promptly deleted by her team of people.
I downloaded a pirated copy of one of Mandy’s ebooks and bad things happened to my computer.
Downloading/pirating ebooks is illegal.
Mandy’s ebooks are available for purchase legally from Amazon, Kobo, iBooks, Nook, and Google Play.
I’m an aspiring author, will you read my manuscript?
Time restrictions and legal restrictions prevent her from being able to do so.
Can you tell me how to, or help me self-publish my indie title?
No. Mandy is unable to provide one-on-one guidance. There are a lot of sites and books out there that help authors with this.
